Mission Statement:We, the members of the South Church family, are a people of God committed to living together in Christian love, creating, with God’s help, a caring fellowship where we can give support to and receive support from others. Both as individuals and as a faith community, we seek to be disciples of Christ, imparting Christian principles through example and precept to young and old alike. We seek to be a welcoming community of Christians willing to share both the cost and the joys of our discipleship.
In 1851, the members of the "Church of St. Johnsbury Plain" completed four years of prayerful discussion on the needs of the growing community by voting that "the interests of religion require a new church at the South end (of town); that a building be erected at the expense of the whole society to be owned and occupied by a colony from the mother church of not less than one-quarter nor more than one third of its membership, chosen by a committee of designation and to be organized at their own consent." Thus, on October 23, 1851, the colony of 66 members formally organized South Congregational Church.

Put the date on your calendar, bring your friends and a favorite dish to share, and make plans to join us for this fun event.

On January 22, 2012, Rev. Milligan asks how Jesus' call to his disciples to be fishers of people probably actually played out, and how it should play out in our lives.
